Ecosummit is startup paradise as we bring together fundraising startups and active investors that want to create impact. Our goal is to enable as many new investments as possible in smart green startups that focus on saving our climate, decarbonising our economy and electrifying our planet. It makes us especially happy if startups meet their investors at Ecosummit for the first time as it happened between Eturnity and Klima or ESFORIN and SEB last year. Sometimes we also make introductions during the year. Connecting Installion and their Series A lead Eneco Ventures in 2021 turns out to have been truly impactful. In April 2023, Lichtblick, the German subsidiary of Eneco, acquired Installion. Next week, you all have the chance again to make more deals creating impact at Ecosummit Berlin 14-15 June 2023.
Eturnity raises €8.2M Series A
The swiss startup Eturnity makes process-optimising software for installers and providers of PV systems, batteries, heat pumps and EV chargers. Matthias Wiget pitched at ECO22 Berlin for the first time to open their Series A. Today, Eturnity announces the successful closing of their €8.2M Series A led by Klima, Alantra's energy transition fund. Klima usually invests in Series B and beyond but they were so impressed by Eturnity's advanced product development and international customer traction that they deviated from their late stage investment strategy. In fact, Klima is the only new investor in the Series A and committed most of the fresh capital, topped up by a few existing private investors.
ESFORIN raises €7.5M Series B
Energy startup ESFORIN grows fast, provides automated intraday trading and flexibility marketing and pitched at ECO22 Berlin for the second time to open their Series B. On the floating terrace of our conference location Spindler & Klatt, the German co-founders Christian Hövelhaus and Christoph Gardlo sat down together with Swedish CVC Markus Hökfelt of SEB Greentech to talk, enjoy a few good wines and lay the foundation for a long-lasting relationship resulting in the €7.5M Series B announced in May 2023. Existing investors SET Ventures and Christoph Ostermann also participated in the Series B. Now it's time for European expansion.
Lichtblick (Eneco) acquires Installion
Hardware installation is a big bottleneck in the energy transition to 100% renewables. Florian Meyer-Delpho pitched Installion at ECO22 Berlin to raise their Series B. LichtBlick's CEO Constantin Eis was in the audience. Installion used to manage installation hubs for several customers in Germany. Since April 2023, the 160 Installion employees only work for Lichtblick. Back in August 2021, we wrote about Installion's Series A. It is quite fascinating that our introduction to Eneco Ventures resulted in Eneco's acquistion of their portfolio company via Lichtblick. Let's celebrate.
