Ecosummit 2012 (ECO12) takes place on 22-23 March 2012 in Berlin in the beautiful Radialsystem, the perfect location for networking, accelerating new deals and enjoying the smart green capital of Europe. ECO12 brings together startups, VCs, corporates and utilities and fosters cleantech, renewable energy, emobility, smart green city and sustainability. ECO12 expects 400 participants and offers promising startups two extraordinary opportunities to win fame and fortune in our ecosystem. All startups are invited to apply for our ECO12 Award while those fund raising in 2012 can also apply for an investor pitch.

For the first time, we run the ECO12 Award for which you can now apply. The application period runs until 1 March 2012. The award winners will be selected by an international expert jury. Moreover, the award is nicely integrated with Facebook which enables powerful social marketing and functions as a nice way to impress the jury. ECO12 Award winners will be announced and celebrated at ECO12 and can win prize money and possibly additional in-kind sponsorships provided by our ECO12 Sponsors.

Startups looking for funding in 2012 can apply for a free 8-minute investor pitch opportunity. We will select at least 30 deals in early, mid or later stage (seed or growth stage) that can prove quality with regard to management team, technology, market potential and business plan execution. If you are interested in pitching to smart green business angels and VCs, please send us your investor presentation by email to pitch@ecosummit.net. Each selected startup gets one free speaker ticket for ECO12 and one free ticket for our ECO12 VIP dinner for speakers and sponsors on 21 March 2012. Application deadline for the investor pitch is 9 March 2012.

Investor Pitch Application Guideline

To make our selection process easier, we kindly ask you to send us an 8-slide investor presentation (1 minute per slide) that we keep confidential. Please email your investor presentation to pitch@ecosummit.net.

Your ECO12 investor pitch presentation should have the following structure:

1. Company (location, employees, funding, revenues, investors, partners, customers)
2. Market
3. Product (problem, solution, value proposition, USP)
4. Technology (overview, patent situation)
5. Competition
6. Team (founders, management team, track record)
7. Business Case (5-year summary)
8. New Funding (capital wanted, use of funds)

If you are selected, we recommend that you practice your pitch and timing as much as possible. We will also provide you with a speaker manual with useful tips, e.g. using your speaker display and speaker clock in front of you and looking at the audience at all times. Please note that all investor pitches will be published on Ecosummit TV which has received over 15K Videoviews so far. Therefore, we recommend that you only include public information during your live presentation.
